i am really bad at creating macros, which means that I have to click buttons and aim my aoes.  This results in less than optimal (one might say bad) aoe uptime.

Any one able to help with it?  Living bomb i can tab target, but I'm looking for something to help lay down a max level flamestrike and then blizzard.

What I do is just bring up the green cog wheel (the aim) while I'm channeling my current AoE.

As in:

1) Select and aim AoE
2) As soon as the channel starts, select and aim 2nd round of AoE
3) Hover my green wheel until the channel begins to end
4) Cast new AoE

It's pretty obvious, but makes it easy to chain-cast AoEs that way =)

i do that now, but often times due to lag or whatever it doesn't activate the spell, s i have to reclick, possibly multiple times.  I was hoping for a mouseover macro or something .

/cast !Blizzard (or w/e aoe spell).

The "!" will stop multiple clicks from 'toggling' the aiming circle back off by accident.

so far the best thing i can do is click the blizzard button and aim.  A macro button is the same as the spell button.

I also tried binding blizzard to my n-32 keypad, that didn't work so well

Keybinding the spell and aiming with your mouse at the same time seems the easiest (and quickest) for me (e.g. 1 = Flamestrike, 2 = Blizzard)

Cast order:  1, mouse aim, left click, 2, mouse aim, left click

I do the same with Mass Dispel.

I keybind any "targetable" AoE spell to Shift+Q on any character that has one.  I have an odd system for many of my keybinds but they follow a general thought process that usually prevents me from fucking up and going "LOL I'm not playing my XXXX alt, I'm on my hunter".  I keep primary nukes on 1-5/6, Secondary abilities/dots on Shift 1-5/6, most of my interrupts (if the class has them on Shift 3), etc etc.  The point of my story is work up a keybinding system you are familiar with and can remember, learn it, and then never go back to clicking on your action bars EVER again.

I still have to click on my bars for things like...mana potion, Mark of the Wild, Tranquility, and others. I think I've run out of accessible keybinds. hehe

Pretty much the same thing for me, used up all of the keys that are easily reachable to the point where I might as well click a button anyway rather than hit F12 F12 (lol)

I use a nostromo keypad for movement, my 1-5 spells and vent (98% of all spells).  Anything else I click which includes AOE, cooldowns, potions, blink, and iceblock.  Unless i move the bars i could find them with my eyes closed.

I have a G15 keyboard, but trying to change any mapping to my keyboard has actually made things worse in the past for me.  I've got a few ideas to test this weekend.
