Well, this fucking blows.

I think ATI is my LEAST favorite component manufacturer ever. Let's see...
- TV Wonder Elite: drivers hard-lock your entire fucking computer if you open the video feed with any program on a multi-core system.
- Radeon 9600: The only piece of hardware I've ever seen error out and reset its fucking self while running a game.
- Some other ATI Radeon piece of shit (X58?) I bought a year ago: Arrived DOA, returned. Relplacement arrived and chain-crashed my brand new system. Returned, got a GTX280, worked like a charm, no problems at all.

Problems I've had with Nvidia cards:
- A recent driver update to my GTX280 (before I replaced the whole system) would take an extra 15-20 seconds to tab back into WoW after I would tab out.
- Yeah, that's it.

Fuck AMD. Fuck ATI.

Hrm. Speaking of that 15-20 seconds to tab back into wow thing. I have that myself, and it's kind of annoying. Any good way to fix it? (other then going back to older drivers, I suppose)

Instead of full screen, try windowed screen.

Well lets not forgot AMD/ATi (1 company that own by AMD.) is also having bigger problems. AMD is listed 8th on the list to go bankruptcy.

I guess is really Intel next year. LOL. Intel monopoly all over again... O_O

On modern systems, there's no difference between windowed and full-screen - internally, anyway. Modern meaning, DX9 and up.

Yeah, go windowed. Makes dual monitors <3.

You lose maybe 1-3fps at most.

Also for windowed mode.. have you also check maximum size. so it takes up the whole screen and you wont see the edge. all you have to do is press the windows key on your keyboard.

And this command /console maxfpsbk #
# = numbers of fps, like /console maxfpsbk 5
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=11296562324&sid=1
dont put to 0, 0 = full speed
default is 30

Quote
maxfpsbk is a framerate cap and it takes an integer. Basically if your game is out of focus (playing in windowed mode, you pull up an IM or a browser or something), maxfpsbk kicks in. So if you typed maxfpsbk 30, you alt+tab out and the game will run at 30 FPS back there instead of your usual #... let's say 50. You can even make it lower but never higher than your max FPS value.

0 is the uncap value so if you alt+tab, the game will still run at full speed.

We also have maxfps where it kicks in when the game is in focus. You can set a soft cap using that. Let's say you have 50 FPS but you want the game to stick at 35, you'd just type in /console maxfps 35

These are all permanent settings and should end up in your config.wtf file.
