problem watching your icon is i need to refresh in the last 1s of the Dots to really make the GoD out proform GoDD IMO so the icon is to much on a est. for my liking.
There aren't too many fights where this is very reasonable. Even the theorycrafters are saying refresh < 3 seconds. If you try to hold to the 1 sec mark, it's almost guaranteed that you'll drop them at some point (you'll get knocked back, have to run out, etc). Dropping those stacked diseases is far far worse than a slightly early refresh. Besides, when my rotation is tight, my refresh hits about the 1.5-2 sec mark. Wait much longer and you'll back up runes. It performs fine under those conditions.
But sure, go for it, it's definitely easier and more efficient to use an addon!
I'm integrating the Bleeding hearts one myself, just have to retrain myself to look in a different spot.
