I think Khans and Frost just "crit" themselves.

Crit is ridiculous on that gear.  Some hit too, maybe FB/TTW will be back.  I tend not to get too wrapped up in these thing until its close to final, too many things change.

I've started reading the 3.3 thread for mages, but it is already 212 pages long.  The last 20 or so seem to be devoted to frost, which i personally hate.

If they make frost OP for PvE I may have to delete my mage.

Frost probably isn't going to be viable (I have read that even with a perm water ele it still scales so bad it'll be 20% behind).

I'm sort've doubting arcane's ability to hold up in ICC with fight length. I need an avg fight length to figure out exactly what I'm going to do.

Edit: Currently with the 800 some odd haste I'm rocking, even a 32k mana pool is gone waaaaaaaay to fast for me to feel safe in a fight where I have to spam DPS for 10 minutes.

Well here's the thing with frost spec -- you bring to the raid a replenishment *and* 5% crit buff.  This is the only class/spec that can do that, and it's probably why they've still put the cuffs on frost spec (in addition to assuring it's not OP in pvp).  Yeah, the water elemental scaling has been the biggest issue, and it already appears from those doing the PTR testing on it that it's pretty far behind, though those players are also in T9 gear.  With T10 gear and some of the itemizations we are seeing, we'll have to see if Blizzard changes the scaling at all before 3.3 lands.  As soon as it lands, I'm going to spec into frost and let you know my results.

I'd be more willing to open my arms to frost if it was more like 5% behind. that would easily make up for the buffs and survivability in my mind. But in it's current state it feels too far gone. You can't even make argument that at least you'll always have replen because frost doesn't need it lol.

I've been looking at discussions on tier pieces.  From what I'm reading there's debate on whether the legs or gloves T10 is worst.  Looks like my first piece will be Chest, then shoulders, then head, prob gloves after that.

So far it seems as though reign x2 are still bis trinkets

Thoughts on getting the gloves + shoulders (once i get 25 more badges) or getting the chest now (I have an upgrade token).

Getting the chest now is a dps upgrade and will not break my tier bonus.

I'd probably start with the chest without doing any actual checking. If rawr is currently calculating the set bonus correctly for t10, then you can just run which way to go. If you end up not using the gloves later because they're the worst option, we tend to have more tier tokens than we need by the end of content, so you'll eventually be able to swap it when we're down to rolling for offspec shit.
