Dell Studio XPS 16

Anyone have any hands-on experience with these things? The size, weight, price, and specs fit what I want, but I'm really concerned about reliability. I need it to last about 2.5 to 3 years.

Specifically, do they overheat as bad as my nearly-completely-nonfunctional MacBook Pro does?  I found a few pretty old (6months+) reviews that say they can get pretty hot but nothing specific.

There are 4 or 5 mentions on this page alone of heat issues.

This one is kinda funny:

Title: Is there a hairdryer inside this computer?    Date: October 17, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, audio/video production, graphic design, Gaming

Review:I decided to write this review because of my general annoyance with the cooling system on this laptop. Setting your power plan to High Performance (or even Dell Recommended) will result in the cooling fan to run at full speed. To be expected, yes, but it's almost like having a hairdryer turned on beside your computer. It really is QUITE loud. Another issue is that the vent is blocked by the display when opened! Maybe that's why the fan has to struggle so much to dissipate the hot air inside the laptop. I also want to say that I'm not a nitpicker and I usually let things slide, but this is just too much of an issue for me that I feel I have to mention it. If I want a relatively quiet laptop, I keep it on Battery Saver, but that sort of negates the point of buying a powerful laptop in the first place.

Man, "Cyber Monday" sale. $404 off. This is so tempting.
