Phenom II AM3, Starting to look really nice.

this is good news for me - a hardcore AMD Fanboi; I'm still using the last chip AMD produced when they we're still > Intel in the performance category: AM2 FX-62(@3.3). I've been using this chip because I refuse to buy intel, And I refused to upgrade to a Phenom I because they just didn't compete with Core2 or Nehalem.

But now, Phenom II is keeping up with Nehalem at half the price and has some really nice features like the AM3/DDR3 chip being backwards compatable to AM2+ and even AM2(With a bios update) sockets and DDR2 memory, A great selling point for people upgrading from/to AMD.

their vid cards are also doing very well on the market right now from my current research. i was looking at the geforce series, but when i REALLY started to research it, Nvidia was re promoting old cards that were slightly tweaked up, and they plan on renaming some current cards... which really just means a lot of confusion and bullcrap.

Bought my Phenom II AM3, and a new AM2+ motherboard, still using my old ram.

Went from 2.6 -> 3.2 on air cooling without overvolting and still only running 50deg sitting in dalaran, getting a solid 200fps most places in dalaran, in raids i get 90-120.

Excellent chip
