My guild was trying Saratharion with 2-3 drakes and I was wondering what a good spec would be to tank the boss, atm I was thinking of using http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=j0E0qIhfscMzhZGxxz0jZ0x, its 43/23/5 spec giving me some nice O shit buttons which could help from blood and frost as well as passive abilities like Will of the Necropolis and Frigid Dreadplate.

But I was also thinking of using another spec my friend was tellin me which was 29/8/34 http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=j0E0qIhcoZhxZbg0hLcoxe0o. The specs gives me 8% stam increase as well as Magic Suppression, Spell Deflection and Anti-Magic Zone for the fire breaths.

If anyone has any good ideas please share them I would hope that the boss would die b4 the next patch.

I've tanked it multiple times now as multiple specs.

5/5/61 and 44/23/4 are by far the best specs to use.

I would go as far to say that 5/5/61 is better then 44/23/4 in almost all situations, more cooldowns means you don't have to rely on paladins or priests at all, your nearly self sufficient and any 1 healer can keep you up.

with 44/23/4 I used:
Breath1: AMS
Breath2: IBF
Breath3: Fire Pot + Repelling Charge + Vamp Blood + Power Word: Shield
Breath4: Guardian Spirit + Power Word: Shield
Breath5: AMS (If needed)

We only over get 2 or 3 breaths uasually, but with that spec you need to rely on healers for CDs.

with 5/5/61:
Breath1: AMS
Breath2: IBF
Breath3: AMZ
Breath4:Fire Pot + Repelling Charge + Bone Shield
Breath5: AMS
Breath6: IBF

I've done it as 5/5/61 with a single druid in mediocre gear healing me and my tanking gear isn't that great. If you do it wit a priest healing you it absolutely negates the entire encounter.

Also if you dont have a repelling charge or some other trinket that has a use thats decent for this it dosen't really matter, because Boneshield/Firepot is more then enough as it is, same with Vamp blood/Firepot/PWS, I just use it as insurance and because i dont have anywhere else to use it with.

the biggest thing is that your healer has to keep you TOPPED off all the time. with 5/5/61 its not so bad because you almost completely negate the breaths, and ive gone into breaths with 50% hp and as fine, but with 44/32/4 you need to be 100% for every breath becaue your relying on your HP pool + will of the necropolis.

another note, with 44/32/4 you're relying on your healer to keep you topped 100% of the time so putting more stress on him/her by relying on him/her for multiple cooldowns seems  a little counter-intuitive to me.

tl:dr version. 5/5/61 is optimal from my experience and is much more forgiving on low dps groups and dosent require a specific healer, whereas 44/23/4 requires a priest or paladin with good gear and a high dps group, and dosen't put out as much threat.

the biggest threat in this fight is the flame breath, so stacking HP is usually the best route. It is also common to have a tank with better defensive stats taunt him off of the DK after the drakes are dead and the flame breaths are no longer fatal to them.

I thought demonology was the best 10 man tanking spec. Smiley

I have 20% parry 25% dodge 69% DR from armor and 34ish hp unbuffed in frost presence. You could get away with a couple k hp lower if you're 5/5/61 or a varient of it. I end up at 30k flat with the HP debuff and no breath is over 26k.

Probably, hp would be high enough with raid buffs.
