Okay so Vashj'ir got a lot better once you get about halfway through the zone.
My final gripe about it is that I don't personally like those quests (like the escape from undercity or the echo isles) where you really can't fuck up. And you can't speed it up. You can't really do anything but sit and watch. And there's a big one in vashj'ir.

see i actually like those quests. i view them as interactive storytelling with more focus on storytelling then interaction. it's a good way for the developers to be able to focus on presenting the story and direction of that story to the player while still maintaining player control.
as such i'm glad they don't also overuse these type of quests much and only on areas that are of pretty big lore importance. looking back at Wrath, it was only Battle For The Undercity and then Zalazane's Fall that used them respectively. only two of them for the entire expansion, not bad really.

There's like... a bunch of them now. Not all of them are as long as Echo Isles or Undercity, but standing around waiting for "something to happen" happens 3 times (if I'm remembering right) in Vashj'ir alone (Entering the zone, waiting for the Verne, and the final thingie before Throne of the Tides). Also, there's still too much of those Deus-Ex-Machina moments in the events themselves.
Orc Leader: More Naga! Attttaaackkk! *you fight for ~60 seconds against mobs with 1.2M HP* Erunak: *zap* *Naga all die* Erunak: Let's move on, fate of the planet and life and whatnot. I'm on a horse.
I think that happened three times just on the walk from point A to B. I don't find it compelling, personally. I find it kind of ... dull. At least on Echo Isles, there was a bunch of trolls there, and you had to actually kill the mobs.
That said, I guess I don't ever read the quest text anyway, so having to do these does at least force me to 'get' what's going on.

I hate all of these story telling quests. I"m dreading the intro to every zone even through I can skip them, hopfully.

If they added bear abuse mechanics to raid bosses, plaguechill could totally compete for world firsts.

If they added bear-abusing mechanics to raids, I would HAPPILY come back to WoW and raid again. And I'd only complain half as much, as I'd be too busy abusing bears. Calling them Lil' Furball, or Baby DJ, or other such names.

just saw something on MMO about limiting battle res in raid encounters.
one soulstone and 1 rebirth per 10man attempt, and anycombo of up to 3 for 25 man o_O
this is just silly.

Eh, it doesn't bother me. On any encounter that's of 'significant enough' difficulty, losing 3 DPS to void zones is enough lost DPS that you can't win anyway. On anything else, stop standing in void zones. That said, the best solution in my little opinion is to remove these two things: - Combat resurrections - Bloodlust (I really, really, really, really, really hate Bloodlust.)

yeah, bloodlust is a nice bonus, but the fact is for many of the hardmode encounters I dont think it would be possible to do without it, and having it be required is really stupid.
but hey, mages and certain hunterpet? get bloodlust now... yaaaaaaay /facetodesk

I thought they reverted all those "BM Hunter means you get a buffet line of buffs" changes... does a core hound still bring it in the latest build?
