A month away? http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/1966-Patch-4.0.1-now-on-Test-Realms

I guess what blows my mind is that this explicitly isn't Cataclysm. So it's just ... let's push the new talent trees and spells and whatnot, but leave out the old world changes and flying and new tradeskills...?

So does that mean we'll get patch 4.0.2 when Cataclysm actually *launches* so that we'll see the blown up world? I can't believe they'd try to launch another major content patch just before everyone rushes into playing. Historically the 2.0 and 3.0 patches included all the content, you just bought the game to unlock using the other stuff.

Yeah, it's gonna be a little rough.  But I actually think it might be just kind of a get used to the new system patch.  Let people get used to new spells and how things work in the current content.  Then they blow up the world.

The patch where everyone hates change and QQ's and threatens to cancel their account.

I actually like what they are doing with resto druids.  Am I the only one that's excited?

The feral DPS changes are basically "Your rotation doesn't suck anymore", but otherwise it's nothing supercrazynew.

The bear stuff I haven't spent enough time on to form an opinion.

My point was more like "Pushing a patch is a major technical challenge. If 4.0.1 doesn't unlock the new continents, they then have to push another patch 4.0.2 (or whatever) to do that. When do they plan to do *that*? If it's too close to Cata's release date, they risk a deployment nightmare the night of/week of launch. "

Unlike BC, there's no extension of the talent trees so will miss the increase in power.

Excited to see what will happen to healing and tanking.

If memory serves, patch 4.0 implements the talent changes, as well as the lead-up events to the actual cataclysm itself (earthquakes, etc.). Basically it's exactly the same thing they've done with previous expansions, like the Scourge and demon invasions.

I believe I read on WoR that the plan is to have those events begin to increase in frequency until 3 weeks before release, at which point the old world changes go live, as well as the new race/class combinations (not including, of course, goblins and worgen). So, anyone with a plain vanilla account or higher will be able to see the new look of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, but the new zones will only be available to Cataclysm subscribers on release day.

I don't like the new talents, It's hard to figure what is what. I see my Dk sucking now..because unholy looks chopped and thrown away.

Also you spec in a lot of unless shit just get your normal good stuff. Think blizz is smoking crack or something

You're safe, just ask me whats going on.  I have tested them all a shit ton and trying to get to 85.  Dk's still wreck the meters Smiley.  Also if you want to make suggestions to blizzard I can do that too but I suggest trying the PTR first.  Also take into consideration there were a ton of glyph changes and while some skills seem nerfed the glyphs buff them majorly.

unholy really intrigues me( i think thats how you spell it lol) but i might have to go with frost in cata it has more buttoms to smash and feels more like the chain-gun spec.
