As some of you know, I'm a big fan of QR Codes. I recently found an awesome QR code generating site.
http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/From the drop down menu you can select from Calender Event, Contact Information, E-mail, Geo Location, Phone Number, SMS, Text, URL, and interestingly Wifi Network.
The implications of using a QR code to snag Wifi info is pretty neat. Those who provide hotspots could easily create a QR code and post it in an easily accessible location on site and smartphone users can simply use a Wifi app able to read QR Codes or a robust QR Code reader app and auto-create the Wifi hotspot profile and connect by simply scanning the location's QR Code.
