As some of you know, I'm a big fan of QR Codes.  I recently found an awesome QR code generating site.

http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/

From the drop down menu you can select from Calender Event, Contact Information, E-mail, Geo Location, Phone Number, SMS, Text, URL, and interestingly Wifi Network.

The implications of using a QR code to snag Wifi info is pretty neat.  Those who provide hotspots could easily create a QR code and post it in an easily accessible location on site and smartphone users can simply use a Wifi app able to read QR Codes or a robust QR Code reader app and auto-create the Wifi hotspot profile and connect by simply scanning the location's QR Code.

ZXing also has written a QR scanner app for your Droid if you don't already have one here:

I think the best QR scanner/reader app for the iPhone is Quickmark for $.99 here:

Speaking of QR codes, most major airports let you check in with a QR code if you flash it on your phone. The last time I flew, my boarding passes were generated by United's iPhone app (in QR format), and I simply waved my phone on the scanner at each of the security checkpoints (and at the gate).
